Referral guide for GPs
We collaborate with GPs to support timely access to comprehensive psychiatric assessment and care.

Eligibility & Requirements
Who can be referred?
- Patients aged 17 to 64 years of age.
- We accept referrals Australia-wide for psychiatric and addiction care, including ADHD & 291 assessments.
- Patients must have a valid Medicare card and referral from a GP or specialist for Medicare rebates.
- Private billing patients may be eligible for a rebate.

Referral Process
How to refer a patient
- Complete a referral letter with relevant clinical history and reason for referral.
- Relevant patient and practice details.
- Please specify a 291 (Telehealth 92435) Assessment if requested.
- Send securely via Healthlink EDI, email or patients can upload through our secure portal on Halaxy.
- Once received, our team will review and contact the patient to arrange an appointment.

Assessment Preparation
Documents & Pre-assessment Checklist
All referrals for ADHD assessments require the following:
- ECG (electrocardiogram),
- Blood presure and heart rate,
- Pathology tests: full blood count; liver, kidney and thyroid function tests; and iron studies,
- Urine drug screen, if required,
- Current list of medications and relevant medical history, and
- Any documentation relevant for an ADHD assessment, such as a previous ADHD diagnosis.
Additional information and/or tests may also be required.

Our services
We provide psychiatric assessments and management plans. We do not provide crisis mental health or substance use services.

if a patient is at risk of harm, call 000 or advise them to attend the nearest Emergency Department and/or contact their local mental health crisis team.
